My name’s John Davis and I’m 44 years
old. I started getting interested in bodybuilding exercises after
taking part in a football game where our team had to remove their
shirts. We were just a bunch of friends (at least I thought they
were my friends) having fun. Because we didn’t have proper shirts,
one team always kept their shirts on, the other took them off so we
knew who was on which team.
At half time I turned around suddenly to see one of my “friends”
mocking me by pushing out his tummy and pointing out my sunken
chest. I was devastated. I knew my body wasn’t great, but when I saw
how others saw me, I just wanted to crawl into hole and never come
out again.
Although it was a bad experience at the time – I never went back to
the football game again, and never saw those “friends” again – but
eventually I was grateful to them. If that sounds crazy, let me
explain. What that event did was to make me determined to never be
embarrassed again. It started me on my journey to discover the right
way of building a better body, one that I could be proud of. I tried
reading the magazines, fell for the sales pitches of the supplement
salesmen, and sweated my guts out in the gym.
Eventually I discovered Vince DelMonte’s No Nonsense Muscle Building
Program and I have never looked back. Now I wish I could bump into
one of my old football buddies, just so I could whip my shirt off
and watch his face (or better still see his girlfriend’s face)!
